The Main Way The Egyptians Lived With Their Religion
Egyptians believed that almost everything that happened in their lives resulted from the actions of gods or goddesses. They gave credit to them for the regular flooding of the Nile, the enormous size and harshness of the surrounding desert, and daily raising and setting of the sun. People believed that any misfortunes and fortunes encountered in their daily lives came about because the deities willed it. People feared their deities and worshiped them to keep them happy. For example, to ensure the yearly life-giving flood of the Nile, people made offers to the deities of the sun, moon, earth and water.
